Novatron becomes fully Nordic owned

MOBA Mobile Automation AG has sold its stake in Finnish company Novatron Oy to investor Mandatum Asset Management. The transaction takes effect on December 23, 2025. With this step, Novatron returns to fully Nordic ownership and enforces its presence and position as a machine control manufacturer in the Nordic market. As part of the same transaction, MOBA AG’s Swedish subsidiary MOBA Sweden AB, focusing on the distribution and service of Xsite products, will also be transferred to Novatron.

Novatron Oy is a Finnish technology company that develops and manufactures pioneering machine control systems, sensor technology, OEM components and software since 1991. The company’s team of over 140 professionals has more than 30 years of experience in infrastructure automation. Novatron’s headquarters and technology center are located in Pirkkala, Finland. The company also has offices in Oulu, Helsinki, Kuopio, and Vaasa in Finland.

Abroad, Novatron operates through international reseller and partner networks. MOBA Mobile Automation AG, one of the main partners, has been involved with the company since 2011 and has primarily distributed the systems directly in its regional markets through MOBA subsidiaries.

Mandatum is a major Nordic financial service provider combining expertise in asset and wealth management and life insurance. After the investment from Mandatum Asset Management’s Growth Equity II fund, Novatron Oy is fully owned by the founding Finnish Tervahauta family and Mandatum Asset Management (MAM). Tervahauta family, including founder Jukka Tervahauta and Chair of Board Teemu Tervahauta, owns the majority of the shares.

Meeting and focusing on the high requirements of Nordic users

Novatron offers solutions for digitalization, machine control and data management on construction sites. The products are designed and manufactured in Finland. The company’s machine control solutions, sensors, and software are tailored to the demanding terrain and extreme temperature fluctuations of the Nordic countries, where system usability and reliability are crucial.

The customers include civil engineering contractors, infrastructure designers and machine manufacturers, both in Finland and abroad.

Xsite continues to be part of the MOBA offering

Despite the change in the ownership structure, the MOBA Group will remain a partner of Novatron in the future. Xsite products will continue to be distributed and supported via the German sales company of MOBA AG and its international locations.

The name change and rebranding of MOBA Sweden AB to Novatron Sweden AB will be implemented gradually, with a target of being fully completed during spring 2026. For the Swedish customers, the transition will be smooth and secure, with all agreements, contacts, and ongoing projects continuing exactly as before, including the same staff, support, and service level as before.
