How Novatron’s Xsite DRILL Piling Solution Revolutionizes Solar Farm and Data Center Construction

Novatron’s Xsite® DRILL Piling, the latest version of Xsite® DRILL navigation system, is designed to enable rapid piling work –faster, more accurate, and easier way to way to carry out construction projects such as solar farms and data centers. It guides the piling machine to the correct position and orientation with centimeter-level accuracy, making the repetitive process easy for the operator.

Novatron’s solution includes a piling navigation system and cloud service. The digital pile plan is transferred directly to the machine’s Xsite® DRILL Piling machine navigation system through Novatron’s Xsite® MANAGE cloud service. When the piling is done, the operator can send the as-built data back to the office for quality control and reporting through a two-way wireless connection. 

A proven solution for large-scale piling projects

“Feedback for the system has been very positive. We are getting extra credit for the tech support that we are giving for the customers, but also the full ecosystem, that includes the Xsite DRILL but also the Xsite MANAGE Cloud service”, tells Joonas Sokka, Product Manager for Xsite DRILL Piling at Novatron. 

“Early use cases show that customers are able to drive 22,000 piles with 20–30% greater pile-driving efficiency and reduce the number of hours spent on surveying-related work by about 95%, which has a significant impact on construction schedule and speed of completion,” Sokka says. 

The system is developed together with drill operators in Nordics and manufactured in-house by Novatron in Finland. In Sweden, the system is already in use and helping to power up the solar farm construction industry. Local installation, field service and user support is provided by official Xsite Dealers.
